About the Role
At Social Corner, the Sous Chef is a key leader in the kitchen, working alongside the Head Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences that delight our guests. In this role, you will combine technical expertise, creativity, and leadership to ensure every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. You will mentor the team, manage kitchen operations, and uphold Social Corner’s reputation for vibrant and innovative cuisine.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence.
- Ensure every dish reflects Social Corner’s high standards of flavor, consistency, and presentation.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Manage inventory, food costs, and ordering to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Supervise food preparation to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist in developing and executing seasonal menus and specials to excite and delight guests.
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing team environment.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and communication.
- Address operational challenges proactively to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
- Handle kitchen scheduling and staff assignments to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a culinary leadership role within hospitality.
- Passion for creating vibrant, flavorful dishes and delivering culinary excellence.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- A collaborative mindset and dedication to fostering teamwork to achieve outstanding dining experiences.
Compensation
$55,000 – $65,000 + gratuities + 3 weeks vacation + health benefits
